schools and students in prayer.

Pray for your children, their friends, other students,
local school administrators, school board members,
teachers, and everyone connected with the schools.

The Jewish Queen, Esther (Esther 4:14),
interceded for her people before the Persian king to save
the Jews from destruction in 473 BC. Many students believe
the threats in that ancient time and the spiritual dangers
facing our nation, today are worth comparison, prompting
them to pray to God, as the Jews did in the story of Esther.

The tragic shootings at our children's schools, resulting in the
deaths of many children and teachers, highlight the danger
students face when they walk on the school grounds each day.
Many young people have responded with renewed spiritual fervor:
the daily prayer meetings in Paducah, Kentucky grew from around
30 to more than 130 after a shooting incident on December 1, 1997.

Gathering of young people for prayer before school at their
schools is entirely legal, according to the U.S. Education
Secretary Richard Riley. In a letter sent to school officials
in August 1995, it is listed among those activities that are
appropriate forms of religious expression by students on campus.

“Schools must give students the same right to engage in religious
activity and discussion as they have to engage in other comparable
activity,” the letter stated. “This means that students may pray
in a non-disruptive manner during the school day when they are
not engaged in school activities and instruction, subject to the
same rules of order as apply to other student speech.” The
guidelines were drafted and endorsed by a broad range of civil
liberties and religious groups, including both the American Civil
Liberties Union and the Christian Legal Society.

The visibility of prayer in school with so many teenagers
participating has led to a greater awareness among
adults of the problems students face at their schools every day.
In response, thousands of churches all around the world
are praying for Christian students and educators.

If one woman can cause them to take God out of schools ,
what could a multitude of God's people, with God, do
to get Him back in and kick a little satan butt?

Also, if we fail to teach our children to respect life in the womb,
why would they respect it, in the library?

Let's see...I think it started when Madalyn Murray O'Hair complained
that she didn't want any prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

Then someone said you had better not read the Bible in school-
the Bible that says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal,
and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said, OK.

Remember Dr. Benjamin Spock, who said we shouldn't spank our
children when they misbehave, because their little personalities
would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem?
And we said, OK, we won't spank them.

Then someone said that teachers and principals better not
discipline our children when they misbehave. And our
administrators said "Whoa!" No one in this school better
touch a student when they misbehave because we don't want any
bad publicity, and we surely don't want to be sued.

Then someone said, let's let our daughters have abortions if they want,
and we won't even have to tell their parents. And we said,
that's a grand idea. Then they said lets give them contraceptives
and let them do whatever they desire, and we won't have to tell
their parents. And we said, that's another great idea.

And then some of our top officials said that it doesn't matter
what we do in private as long as we do our jobs. And we said,
as long as I have a job and the economy is good,
it doesn't matter to me what anyone does in private.

So now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience,
why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough,
we can figure it out.
