"Medley"

Dedicated to Bessie Gould
May 20, 1913 - July 13, 1998

My years have been many, 'Some good and some bad'
I thank God each day for the precious moments I've had.
The quality of life is to live and rejoice.
To love one another, remember forgiving is a choice.
I'm going on my journey, soon I'll be home.
My loved ones await me, near God's Heavenly Throne.
I pray that all my children will remember me with love,
and will stay close to each other as I watch from above.
I will speak of my dream so that you all may hear.
A dream that's of beauty throughout all the years.
I'm standing on a corner in search of the cross.
Sudenly from above appeared an Angel
when I thought I was lost.
His hands were out stretched with a gleam in his eyes.
The familiar features as I started to cry.
Oh yes he's my Angel, my honey above.
He's now come to me as I so need his love.
As I watched him get closer I now knew it was time.
I feared not, but rejoiced as we started the climb.
I saw a circle of bright lights through a tunnel so deep.
I watched with amazement with a circle of gowns, and Angel's feet.
They glowed like no other light I had seen.
The music was beautiful, that could only be in a dream.
I almost awoke seeing the glory above.
Instead they said it is time, and reached out with abundance of love.
This body a vessel, I've borrowed for years.
I no longer need it, my spirit is clear.
I love all my children, and grandchildren too.
I'll miss you my darlings, please rejoice for everything is new.
I'm now a spirit, not a body but a soul.
I'm now with my husband, completed and whole.
I didn't say goodbye, as we will be together again.
A new kingdom in heaven, our castle within.
I love you all, stay close and have faith.
The Lord is our Shepherd, be prepared, and just wait.
I haven't left you as I hope you can see.
I'm waiting, and watching one day it will be.

The Master's Bouquet

The Master walked in His garden, picking flowers along the way,
He picked one of my loved ones, to add to His bouquet.
My heart at first was broken, at the loss of one so dear.
But the tears I shed just washed my eyes, so I saw His way more clear.
My Lord has need for just this one, for the pattern He has in mind.
But it's hard for us to see, why we must be left behind.
Perhaps we are not ready to go just yet, we may need time to ripen more.
To reach the full blown fragrance, my Lord is waiting for.
To each give forth a fragrance, to each we chance to meet.
We should each be trying day by day, to make our fragrance sweet.
So I'm going to try my very best, to be loving and kind each day.
So at last I'll be counted worthy, to be part of the Master's Bouquet.

He Set Me Free

Don't grieve for me, now that I'm free.
I'm following in the path God laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard Him call.
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day.
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that peace at the close of the day.

If parting has left a void, then fill it
with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, oh yes
these things I too shall miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much.
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee.
God wanted me now; He set me free!

No Regrets

Isn't it good at the end of the day,
To look up at God and be able to say,
"Dear Lord, I helped someone today."
But isn't it sad if instead we must say,
"Dear Lord, I hurt someone today,
I drove the nails a little bit deeper,
And forgot that I am my brother's keeper."
Isn't it better when the day is done,
To know that you have injured no one?
From the time of your waking, till you lie down to sleep,
Remember the promises that we should keep,
To love one another as He loves us too.
And you'll never regret any good that you do.
