"Watch the Lamb"

I’m looking through this window glass at the streets below.
As I look down, thoughts go through my head.

They used to laugh and sing and dance and now that is no more.
It’s sex and drugs and fear of life.

Our minds are young, are hearts are sad, are bodies withered and torn.
The hearts of all those children ask.

They run and hide, they fear the gangs as the gun shot sounds ring out.
Is there no piece to be seen in sight except a lot of shouts.
Is this all there is to see , no love or future plans.
Again I ask what can we do’

God created the world in seven days with good things planned in mind.
The human race reversed his plan.

His purpose was a perfect one with life to be clean of sin.
The beginning of the human race has changed from man within.
I wonder what this all leads too when people are living on the streets.
With little food, it’s cold and wet, no where to warm their feet.
I only pray that God above will reconstruct his perfect plan.
Remember we are the chosen child to live upon his land.
It is not us the older folk that suffer most of all.
It is our children who suffer so, again I ask.

~Ashley’s Diary~

November 17 - Today my life began. My parents do not know it yet, I am as small as a seed of an apple, but it is I already. And I am to be a girl. I shall have blond hair and blue eyes. Just about everything is settled though, even the fact that I shall love flowers.

December 5 - Some say that I am not a real person yet, that only my mother exists. But I am a real person, just as a small crumb of bread is yet truly bread. My mother is. And I am.

December 9 - My mouth is just beginning to open now. Just think, in a year or so I shall be laughing and later talking. I know what my first word will be: MAMA.

December 11 - My heart began to beat today all by itself. From now on it shall gently beat for the rest of my life without ever stopping to rest! And after many years it will tire. It will stop, and then I shall die.

December 18 - I am growing a bit every day. My arms and legs are beginning to take shape. But I have to wait a long time yet before those little legs will raise me to my mother’s arms, before these little arms will be able to gather flowers and embrace my father.

December 28 - tiny fingers are beginning to form on my hands. Funny how small they are! I’ll be able to stroke my mother’s hair with them.

January 5 - It wasn’t until today that the doctor told mom that I am living here under her heart. Oh, how happy she must be! Are you happy, mom’

January 10 - My mom and dad are probably thinking about a name for me. But they don’t even know that I am a little girl. I want to be called Kathy. I am getting so big already.

January 25 - My hair is growing. It is smooth and bright and shiny. I wonder what kind of hair mom has.

January 28 - I am just about able to see. It is dark around me. When mom brings me into the world it will be full of sunshine and flowers. But what I want more than anything is to see my mom. How do you look, mom’

January 6 - I wonder if mom hears the whispering of my heart’ Some children come into the world a little sick. But my heart is strong and healthy. It beats so evenly: tup-tup,tup-tup. You’ll have a healthy little daughter, mom!

January 10 - Today my mother killed me.

"Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold
back those stumbling to the slaughter. If you say,
’Surely we did not know this,’ does not He who weighs

"Children Learn What They Live"

If a Child lives with Criticism, He learns to Condemn.
If a Child lives with Praise, He learns to Appreciate.
If a Child lives with hostility, He learns to Fight.
If a Child lives with tolerance, He learns to be Patient.
If a Child lives with ridicule, He learns to be Shy.
If a Child lives with encouragement, He learns Confidence.
If a Child lives with shame, He learns to feel Guilty.
If a Child lives with approval, He learns to like Himself.
If a Child lives with fairness, He learns Justice.
If a Child lives with security, He learns to have Faith.
If a Child lives with Acceptance & Friendship, He learns to find love in the World.

"Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethern,
you did it to Me." Matthew 25:40

Child abuse has been proven to be one of the leading causes of childhood deaths
in this nation. According to recent studies every 4 seconds a child is abused and
every 7 minutes a child’s life is lost. If you or any member of your family are being abused
or know of someone who is being abused you MUST take it seriously and REPORT IT.
This problem is a devastating nationwide problem that more often then not goes
unreported because people don’t want to get involved. As teachers, child care
workers, principals, doctors, or any other professionals it is your duty to report
suspected abuse or neglect. As a friend, neighbor or even a relative it is also
your duty if you suspect someone is being abused.

~ PLEASE Call ~

Stand up and be the voice for all children of this planet!
Show them we care enough to make a difference!
In reality, creating awareness, education, recognition, prevention
and intervention is the first real step towards breaking
the cycle of abuse and stopping all forms of maltreatment!

Death Of An Innocent"

I went to a party, Mom, I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom, so I drank soda instead.
I really felt proud inside, Mom, the way you said I would.
I didn’t drink and drive, Mom, even though the others said I should.
I know I did the right thing, Mom, I know you are always right.
Now the party is finally ending, Mom, as everyone is driving out of sight.
As I got into my car, Mom, I knew I’d get home in one piece.
Because of the way you raised me, so responsible and sweet.

I started to drive away, Mom, but as I pulled out into the road,
the other car didn’t see me, Mom, and hit me like a load.
As I lay there on the pavement, Mom, I hear the policeman say,
the other guy is drunk, Mom, and now I’m the one who will pay.
I’m lying here dying, Mom. I wish you’d get here soon.
How could this happen to me, Mom’ My life just burst like a balloon.

There is blood all around me, Mom, and most of it is mine.
I hear the medic say, Mom, I’ll die in a short time.
I just wanted to tell you, Mom, I swear I didn’t drink.
It was the others, Mom. The others didn’t think.
He was probably at the same party as I.
The only difference is, he drank and I will die.

Why do people drink, Mom’ It can ruin your whole life.
I’m feeling sharp pains now. Pains just like a knife.
The guy who hit me is walking, Mom, and I don’t think it’s fair.
I’m lying here dying and all he can do is stare.

Tell my brother not to cry, Mom. Tell Daddy to be brave.
And when I go to heaven, Mom, put "Daddy’s Girl" on my grave.
Someone should have told him, Mom, not to drink and drive.
If only they had told him, Mom, I would still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom. I’m becoming very scared.
Please don’t cry for me, Mom. When I needed you, you were always there.

I have one last question, Mom, before I say good bye.
I didn’t drink and drive, so why am I the one to die’

Those injured and killed in drunk driving collisions are not "accident" victims.
The crash caused by an impaired driver involved two choices: to drink AND to drive.
The deaths and injuries caused each year by impaired driving can be prevented...
they are not "accidental".

Report drunk drivers immediately to area law enforcement from a car phone or pay phone
with the license plate number, description of the vehicle and the direction in which it was traveling.

If you or someone you love becomes the victim of a drunk driving crash,
